An academic institution is only as strong as its faculty. At UNT Dallas, you won’t find professors who are disengaged from the world. In fact, UNT Dallas is home to instructors who combine scholarship and real-world professional experiences in the fields of business, counseling, education, human services, law and more. Our faculty is committed to teaching, and each faculty member is accessible to his or her students both inside and outside of the classroom.

Our faculty also set rigorous standards to which students must adhere in order to excel. At the same time, many faculty members come from diverse backgrounds similar to those of our students. They understand the demands of work, family and study in a University. They are available to help you to learn, understand and grow as an individual.

Faculty members at UNT Dallas are focused on opening students’ “eyes” in the classroom. They don’t merely teach for tests, but instead help students understand diverse, real-world topics. For instance, faculty members in the education program teach students what it means to educate children in a society in flux because of cultural and demographic changes. Criminal justice professors discuss the death penalty, but also lead students on field trips to the state penitentiary and the death chamber to examine the impact of justice on the individual and society.
